Urban Regeneration
— Project
A neighbourhood regeneration proposal stitching a fragmented block back into the city — courtyards, permeable pavements and a productive rooftop that returns biodiversity to central Rome.

— Concept
Treat the block as a living organism. Interior courtyards become the connective tissue; the roofscape becomes new civic ground.
— Challenges
Balancing residents' privacy with new public permeability, and negotiating heritage constraints across four adjacent parcels.
— Design Process
Participatory workshops with residents, shadow and wind studies, phased demolition plan and coordinated schedule of works over a projected 36-month build.
— Sustainability Strategy
Passive cooling through cross-ventilated courtyards, on-site greywater treatment, and an urban canopy that reduces the block's heat island by an estimated 2.4 °C.
